Job Title: Lifeguard 

Qualifications:

1. Must be at least 17 years old.

2. Must possess American Red Cross (ARC) Basic Life Support for the Professional Rescuer.

3. Must have current CPR certifications (must be renewed every year, regardless of the expiration date on the card).

4. Must have Lifeguard Training and Waterfront Lifeguard module

5. Must pass required background checks

Responsibilities:

1. To actively guard bathers at the waterfront, under the direction of the Waterfront Director.

2. To respond to waterfront emergencies.

3. A ratio of 1/25 is required to supervise swimming activities.

4. Learn the Buddy system, as taught by Waterfront director, and implement “Buddy check” every 15 minutes.

5. Assist Waterfront Director in cleaning dock, crib, beach, clearing away seaweed, boats, etc.

6. Lifeguards will sometimes accompany campers on hikes for first-aid purposes, and will act as security

7. When not fulfilling life guarding duties lifeguards must be willing to help in other aspects of the camp, such as maintenance or kitchen duty, etc.
