Job Title: Program Director

Qualifications:

1. Minimum age of 25 years old.

2. At least one year of higher education or the equivalent in experience significant to camping.

3. Demonstrated proficiency and leadership ability in specialty area.

4. Flexible, emotional maturity and stability, good character, integrity, with the ability to adapt to camp setting.

5. Respect for and commitment toward the health and positive development of children.

6. A liking for and ability to relate to children.

7. Able to take and follow directions.

8 Able to devise programs, special events and schedule assignments.

9. Able to co-ordinate and supervise staff.

10. Must have a valid driver's license.

11. Must be CPR certified.

12. Must be enthusiastic, sense of humor, patient, and possess self control.

13. Good physical condition.

14. Must pass required background check and submit 3 references.

General Responsibilities:

1. The planning, development and implementation of a challenging and interesting program with specialty area.

2. Supervise program specialists.

3. Plan and supervise the implementation of Session Themes (Olympics, etc.)

4. Assist with staff training, team building, etc.

5. The ongoing evaluation and improvement of the program according to the needs and abilities of the campers.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. To plan, develop and implement a camp wide group activity program that is both challenging and interesting for the campers with the specialty area.

2. To instruct the direct staff with specialty area as part of the pre-camp and in service training program.

3. To adapt the program to suit the needs of the campers according to age and varying levels of experience and ability.

4. To work closely with group leaders and Assistant Director to insure the most effective and beneficial utilization of the program area.

5. To assist with and participate in the overall camp program.

6. To assume group responsibilities when and as determined by the Camp Director .

7. Conduct the daily flag ceremony.

8. Assist in developing the “off-duty” counselor schedule and monitor activities.

9. In case of camper injury, must accompany camper to hospital.
